Middle-aged? Single? Female? Childless? Prisms of My Life is definitely the book for you.
A collection of short stories by acclaimed comedian Maureen Younger. Seamlessly blending fact with fiction, Younger’s characters - feckless lovers, younger men and overbearing mothers - mirror the harassment and hurdles women face every day. From the joy of grappling with your friend’s bad taste in men, let alone your own, to childhood innocence irretrievably lost due to one tragic decision, Younger’s funny, poignant and relatable observations will resonate with women everywhere. This collection of new stories include those formerly published as The Void making it a grehttps://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1090509057https://www.amazon.co.uk/Prisms-My-Life-Maureen-Younger/dp/B0C5YT4YDQ/at introduction to the irreverent, sardonic and sometimes heart-breaking world of Maureen.

Reviews
A trilogy of sorts, starting in Vienna, where the writer displays clear knowledge of the place, the language and the culture through both her reminiscence and current view. Moving to part two, exploring our midlife conflicts with our wardrobes, relationships and choices. Finally moving onto a stark take on the life of a performer, constantly ‘on the road’, loving the limelight, but contemplating that the fine line between adulation and isolation is a helluva price to pay for doing what you love.
Maureen Younger lets you into her 'failed love life' . Obviously a talented person.. speaks many languages fluently and is a very funny lady .. I look forward to her full size book.. She is also a standup comedian - I suggest, if she comes to your local comedy club you shoud buy a ticket.. she's hillarious.
Thoroughly enjoyed this collection of short stories. Very well told and with experiences I think we can all relate to. Maureen is a stand up comedian so it is no surprise that her humour shines through her stories.
Lovely book and a great insight into a woman’s world that I would otherwise find difficult to know. Plenty of laughs and valuable life lessons along the way - good things certainly do come in small packages. Well worth the read, highly recommended!
